Winterizing a boat is important to protect the engine and other systems from freezing damage. Failure to winterize a boat can result in costly repairs or even the loss of the boat. Winterization is a process that prepares a boat for storage during the cold months. This includes but is not limited to cleaning, flushing, adding antifreeze, fuel stabilization, battery disconnection or removal, oil, fluid, lubricant change, fogging, greasing and shrink wrapping.
